Prior to Southwest Generation, Rob Witwer practiced business law in Colorado as an associate in the Denver office of a Washington D.C.-based law firm, as a partner in a Denver-based law firm, and as Assistant General Counsel and Deputy Chief Compliance Officer for Molson Coors Brewing Company.

In those roles, he counseled senior management in a wide variety of corporate and transactional matters, including mergers, acquisitions, corporate governance, corporate finance, executive compensation, securities and disclosure, strategic planning and compliance. From June 2005 to January 2009, Mr. Witwer served in the Colorado House of Representatives, where he represented western Jefferson County, Colorado. In addition to his legislative experience, Mr. Witwer served as Assistant Director of the Colorado Department of Natural Resources, where he worked on public lands and energy policy for the State of Colorado.

Mr. Witwer has a law degree from the University of Chicago Law School and a bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, from Amherst College. He, his wife and 4 boys live in Golden, Colorado.
